Conjugated Linoleic Acid and Weight Loss

The majority of people start their weight loss process by reducing fat and the amount of calories they consume on a daily basis. However, nowadays, the advances in supplementation technology have provided us with special types of supplements that entirely burn the fat in our body. CLA, conjugated linoleic acid, is actually a natural fat obtainable from dairy products and meat. This powerful fat has been proven to diminish the fat in the body, removing it in its entirety. Furthermore, it is most typically consumed as an addition to your weight loss plan and taken in necessary doses. As regards the dosage itself, it is always best to consult a physician about which CLA products to purchase, how to use them properly and how to make the best out of it for your weight loss.

The Link between CLA and Sleeping

Studies have shown that CLA is the most effective during the night, that is, when the consumer is asleep. The research was conducted by the University of Wisconsin, with study groups consisting of obese people. They were directed to take 4 g of CLA on a daily basis, for a period of up to six months. The subjects in the first group experienced not only a boosted expenditure of energy, but also successful fat burning, whereas, the subjects in the second, the placebo group, could not lay claim to such positive results. What conjugated linoleic acid manages to it is turn the energy from carbohydrates to energy from fat, thereby burning the accumulated fat in the body.

Combining Conjugated Linoleci Acid and Milk

Researchers have tested the effects of the CLA on metabolism and body structure, when CLA is combined with milk. They examined the ‘behavior’ of CLA and checked its activity for several cardiovascular diseases. Study group subjects who were overweight or obese were directed to take 500 ml of milk and add 3 g of conjugated linoleic acid in it. Subjects in the second group were given a placebo and only drank milk, without any additional supplementation. After the examination period of 12 weeks, overweight subjects from the first group, who were not given a placebo, experienced fat reduction in a significant percentage. On the other hand, the subjects in the placebo group could not combat fat as efficiently. Scientists ultimately drew the conclusion that conjugated linoleic acid can affect overweight people, but it is not as potent when it comes to obese individuals.

Conjugated Linoleic Acid and Body Composition

In Norway, researchers from the ‘Scandinavian Clinical Research’ center, looked into how conjugated linoleic acid influenced the composition of the body, in both overweight men as well as overweight women. In a scientific journal published in April, 2005, it was stated that the overweight subjects who spent 12 months consuming 3.4 g of conjugated linoleic acid experienced fat loss, in comparison to the placebo group subject who consumed plain olive oil.

Conjugate Linoleic Acid & Dosage

As it can be concluded from the studies carried out so far, conjugated linoleic acid can facilitate the weight loss program for overweight people. A mere consumption of 3 g to 4 g of CLA for a period of one year can be of a beneficial importance. Your local health care provider is someone you can talk to if you still feel apprehensive about taking CLA. What matters is to ask for sufficient information about the effects of this supplement if, first of all, you want to feel comfortable with what you consume on a daily basis and, secondly, if you expect great results for conjugated linoleic acid.
